Fire Protection Technology - 1982 Graduating Class Celebrates 25 Yr Reunion
Nov 16, 2007
While Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2007, the boys from the 1982 Fire Protection Technology (FPT) graduating class, shown above in this 1982 class photo with course director Stanley T. Murray, did a little celebrating of their own.
For the first time in 25 years, the 12 members of the 1982 graduating class got together for a class reunion. Held at a centrally located restaurant, not too far from their old stomping grounds at Newnham Campus, the turnout was an amazing 100%.
The initiator of the anniversary get together, Brian Walsh, was very pleased and excited that everyone was able to make the arrangements that allowed them all to attend. The guys came from all directions and locations across southern Ontario, from London to Oshawa and from Barrie to right here in town.
A pretty close knit group of guys back when attending one of the very first years (1979) of the Seneca FPT program offering, it didn’t take long for everyone to fall right back into the comfortable conversations and joking we all shared 25 years ago when sitting around the common room or caf, between classes.
The group swapped stories about their families, kids and careers and relived a lot of the great times shared during our 3 years at Seneca. The hours flew by and the evening was over before we knew it.
Before heading out, all agreed that this should and would become an annual get together. All that was left was to take a group photo replicating the class photo of 1982 and we were off. See you all again next year guys!
