Presidential Search Committee Consultation Process Underway

Dear first name,

As many of you are aware, there is a presidential search under way at Seneca. President Miner indicated his intention to retire by fall 2009. As a result, the Board of Governors organized a Presidential Search Committee to oversee the process of finding a new president. The first part of the process involves consultations with a wide range of informants – Seneca employees and students, government, industry, education and community. One of the key consultation groups is the College’s Alumni. It is the hope of the Presidential Search Committee that many of our Seneca Alumni will take the opportunity through one of the methods outlined below to participate in the consultations. Given that most alumni are off campus the easiest method may be to complete the online survey at the URL listed below.

The Presidential Search Committee’s consultants, Ray & Berndtson, have been managing the consultation process to assist the Committee in the selection of Seneca’s next President.

The consultation process involves seeking input through a variety of formats: submissions to a confidential web-based survey (managed by Ray & Berndtson), “town hall” meetings, and written and oral input from individual and group stakeholders (see below for details).

The consultations are aimed at obtaining stakeholders’ input regarding Seneca’s opportunities and challenges over the next five years, the priorities upon which the new President should focus, and the background and experience required for success in the role.

Ray & Berndtson is committed to holding all input in complete confidence. Key themes arising out of the consultation process will be shared in confidence with the Board of Governors’ Presidential Search Committee to identify the priorities that should guide its selection of Seneca’s next President.

The consultation process will conclude on Friday, October 3rd, 2008. If you have not yet had an opportunity to contribute, we urge you to do so by either or all of these methods:
